            With an 8" touchscreen HD display and a 1MP camera, the charcoal Amazon Echo Show 8 uses video capabilities to expand on traditional Alexa functionality. Equipped with dual-band Wi-Fi and four microphones, the Echo Show 8 connects to your home's wireless network and allows you to intuitively play music, video chat with friends, check the weather and traffic reports, hear sports scores, watch videos, and more.

            The built-in microphones allow the Echo Show 8 to respond to your voice via its two 2" drivers; with Amazon Alexa built-in, you can ask the Echo Show 8 for the weather and traffic details for your commute, among other things. Bluetooth is also onboard, enabling the Echo Show 8 to wirelessly pair and play audio from a variety of audio sources, such as smartphones and tablets. It also features an 1/8" audio output that allows you to use external wired speakers.

            Note:

            Hands-free voice control is not supported for Mac OS X devices. Bluetooth speakers requiring PIN codes are not supported. Does not support connecting to ad-hoc (or peer-to-peer) Wi-Fi networks.

            Make hands-free video calls to the Alexa app or anther screen-equipped Echo device. Use Announcements to send voice messages to every room in your house with a supported Echo device, or use Drop In as a two-way intercom between rooms.

            The Echo Show 8 has a microphone/camera off button and a built-in shutter. You also have control over your voice recordings, allowing you to delete them at any time. Additional privacy features include wake word technology and streaming indicators.

            Smart Home Control

            Manage your compatible smart home devices with the interactive display or your voice. You can control lights and switches, set thermostats, or view security cameras. You can also enable Alexa Guard to get Smart Alerts if your Echo device detects the sound of smoke alarms, carbon monoxide alarms, or glass breaking.

            Alexa Functionality

            Use your voice to set timers, add items to lists, and create calendar events and reminders. You can also check the news, weather, or traffic, ask for sports scores, movie showtimes, restaurant hours, or information.

            Alexa for Kids, Available via a Future Firmware Update
